Ford Motor Company SAP RAR Functional Consultant in Dearborn, Michigan

Integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (I-ERP) is the Ford initiative designed to drive operational efficiency and material cost reduction by adopting industry leading practices, enabling real-time insights and faster decision making. I-ERP involves end-to-end change for financial and procurement processes, with SAP as the technology facilitating the changes. This role supports the I-ERP Plan to report (PTR) Corporate Finance.

The I-ERP Program is seeking a SAP Technology Specialist / Engineer that will participate in all aspects of of systems applications and products (SAP) which includes evaluating technical design, implementation, through multiple testing cycles by supporting Revenue accounting and reporting (RAR) business applications for the I-ERP Program. This role will support the roll out of 2 major markets US & EU for revenue recognition of Ford’s Integrated Services.

  • Understand functional specifications.

  • Develop and implement Program Objects.

  • Support testing integration using S4 platform.

  • Support other forms of testing.

  • Understand the multiple scenarios and implement a robust defect management process within the PDO

  • Support functional consultants in fixing defects already implemented.

  • Participate in the transformation of the Finance to a Product Driven Organization using Agile best practices.

  • Assist with the functional integration of strategic initiatives across components of the SAP solution.

  • Work hands-on with the development team to prioritize, plan, and deliver software that meets user requirements.

  1. SAP RAR Design and Implementation:

  2. Lead the design and implementation of SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting solutions to meet business requirements.

  3. Provides subject matter expert solutions and hands on management of configuration

  4. Work with cross – functional teams to gather and analyze business processes and data, ensuring accurate revenue recognition.

  5. Configuration and Customization:

  6. Configure SAP RAR modules based on business needs, ensuring seamless integration with existing SAP systems.

  7. Customize SAP RAR functionalities to address specific business scenarios and enhance overall system performance.

  8. Reporting

  9. Lead report development to comply with regulatory requirements

  10. Interact with business and report development teams to cater to the business requirements

  11. Integration

  12. Collaborate with SAP integration teams to ensure smooth integration of SAP RAR with other SAP modules and external systems.

  13. Documentation

  14. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to SAP RAR configurations, customizations and integrations.

  15. Compliance and Best Practices

  16. Thorough knowledge of ASC 606 requirements and ensure solution adhering to relevant accounting standards

  17. Training

  18. Create training material

  19. Provide training to end users and provide training support

  20. Post go – live support

  21. Provide go live support to the existing implementation while actively participating in the current implementation.

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, information technology or a technology related field

  • Knowledge / experience SAP business applications

  • Knowledge / experience SAP methodology’s

  • Knowledge / experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Paired Programming

  • Knowledge / experience SAP Platforms and technologies

  • Knowledge / experience programing, debugging, problem solving and investigative skills. Ability to assimilate disparate information (log files, error messages etc.) and pursue leads to find root cause problems.

  • Knowledge / experience Big Data and Analytics

  • Knowledge with SAP S4 platform

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Knowledge / experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.

  • Self-starter who can work independently.
