Lawson has an exciting opportunity for an intermediate-level Marketing Research Analyst to join our Marketing Department, specifically within the Market & Customer Intelligence team. Help us develop an agile, state-of-the-art Voice of Customer (VOC) program to generate market insights that drive revenue growth in the maintenance and repair industry. Become part of our in-house team of subject matter analytics experts with a focus on market research. Collaborate with others within the broader Marketing team and other cross-functional groups to explore customer needs, purchase journeys, and satisfaction. Help uncover opportunities and bring new research programs to life!

Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. This role operates on a hybrid work model; employees spend two days working in the office and three days working remotely. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.

Responsibilities:

  • Put your creativity and initiative to work - take your research and analysis skills to the next level with Lawson Products!

  • Help scope and execute research initiatives for internal clients that will help drive future revenue streams.

  • Draft surveys and discussion guides to generate actionable insights.

  • Program and execute research initiatives using leading-edge electronic platforms, such as Qualtrics, Hot Jar, and Engage.

  • Manage sample lists and help identify new, agile suppliers.

  • Execute research projects by email, phone, web, SMS, etc.

  • Build a central knowledge bank of customer and prospect data, then help mine it to help inform personas, journey maps, etc.

  • Analyze customer, prospect, and market data to "tell a story." Create actionable reports and work with our analytics team to build interactive dashboards to share results. Apply your data visualization skills to make the results pop!

  • Collaborate with the Manager, Market & Customer Intelligence to build a robust, state-of-the-art multi-touchpoint customer experience feedback system.

  • Identify and track market, segment, and industry trends/developments. Build reports and dashboards to share with relevant stakeholders.

  • Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with at least 3 years of market research experience in a corporate or agency setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Moderator and/or CX certification is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in planning and conducting market research projects, such as surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews, journey mapping, customer satisfaction, segmentation, UX / web usability, etc.

  • Experience with B2B market research, preferably in industrial products or manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with basic statistical analysis using standard tools, such as SPSS, R, and/or Excel. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other dashboard/visualization tools a plus. Knowledge of sentiment/text analysis, both AI-based and manual, is a plus.

  • Experience with professional survey/CX platforms, such as Qualtrics, Momentive, Medallia, Confirmit, etc.

  • Ability/experience moderating focus groups, UX/web usability interviews, and in-depth interviews a plus.

  • Innate creativity and persistence: a "quick-study" self-starter with the ability to brainstorm and execute solutions to research challenges and uncover amazing insights. Exposure to automated, AI, and agile research methods a plus.

  • High energy and strong communication skills. Able to deftly collaborate with others at all levels on a cross-functional team.

  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives with speed and agility. Proven ability to meet deadlines with actionable, high-quality results.

  • Strong basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • UX research experience a plus.

  • Journey mapping experience a plus.
