The Field Installation Technician will plan, coordinate, and execute the hardware installations on the vehicles of Goodyear fleets. The role will assure absolute quality of all installations, following the installation playbook and standards. The associate will assure flawless performance and maintenance of hardware throughout the service period and execute any necessary troubleshooting in the field.

This position will also be responsible for training service providers on sensor and telematic installations. This role will supervise their work in cases when the installation is outsourced. The Installation Technician will also manage the receipt, storage, and registration/scanning of Proactive Solutions hardware equipment.

Primary Responsibilities #LI-JK1

  • Deliver hardware installation objectives against pre-defined plan (installation cycle) in a given geography for assigned scope of customers. Coordinate installation schedules with Fleet Manager and the workshop, if required engage special resources (ADR certified electrician). Prepare the hardware for installation (settings, necessary tools, etc.).

  • Coordinate hardware troubleshooting activities with Customer Service Delivery team and execute the maintenance activities in the field. File and report hardware performance claims with the hardware suppliers.

  • Contribute to the development of installation training materials for service providers (Truck Force Network) or other third party installers. Deliver installation training and obtain required certifications for installation of Electronic Braking Systems (EBS), such as Wabco, Knorr, and/or Haldex.

  • Quality and count control at the receipt of hardware equipment. Assure proper storage of hardware equipment. Execute the scanning and registration of all hardware parts.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma

  • 5 or more years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation/repair work

  • Technical experience with tractor-trailer trucks and their related telematics and tires

  • Strong technical background, including basic IT skills

  • Experience with planning and scheduling

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field

  • Self-driven, persistent, and a team player

  • Strong entrepreneurial and communication skills

  • Ability to plan with different parties and execute against plan

  • Basic information technology (IT) skills

  • Open to travel up to 3-4 days a week (mainly Thursday-Sunday)
